Helen Scurfield
Solution design to support world-class international e-commerce has long been Helen’s passion. At Asendia Global Returns, her role managing Asendia’s newest subsidiary encompasses both digital and logistics aspects of the ePAQ Returns offer. This ranges from overseeing expansion of the first mile partner network and accompanying returns centres, to offering a platform supporting retailers and consumers alike, which continues to evolve to meet the needs of an ever more demanding market.
Helen has a BA in English Literature, is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) and PRINCE2 practitioner, with over 20 years’ experience of international logistics, including senior strategic roles at wnDirect, DPDgroup, GeoPost Intercontinental, Kahala Posts Group and Royal Mail.
Having launched her career through the Royal Mail’s accountancy training scheme, Helen held several finance roles, before moving into the project space with business planning, data modelling and IT systems management roles. She was based in Hong Kong for several years as Project Manager and IT lead on business development opportunities for Royal Mail (including Royal Mail joining the Kahala Posts Group), and Head of IT Design for DPDgroup, co-ordinating project activity for Asia and North America to drive volume into the European network. At Kahala Posts Group Helen defined the broader e-commerce strategy for the postal members; including driving improvements in customer service, implementing seamless electronic customs processes, and implementation of new services. She joined wnDirect and subsequently Asendia UK, taking on the role of Innovation Director responsible for delivery of all change activity across products, systems and processes.
Helen loves to travel, but is also happy curled up with a book, or exploring the great outdoors.
